State of the Organization October
2009
Currently NCAECIC has 33 paid
members, thirteen of which are members of committees.
Treasury
Conference:
Income from registration and vendors
– $610.00
Expenses – $6,210.94*
*Although this year's conference was expensive, we felt the need to offer very inexpensive registration prices due to the state of the economy. Because our organization has been able to save money on previous conferences, we are happy to report that we still have ample funds for future conferences.
Scholarship Fund:
Income from Silent Auction and Donations
- $346.50
Scholarships Given - $3000 (3 scholarships of $1000 each)
NCAECIC is still in solid shape.
The executive board decided a year ago, when we had to postpone the
Conference one year, that we would have a conference this year that
was affordable and offered topics that struggling teachers needed to
do a great job. The next conference will be in the spring of 2011,
as we have determined that spring is a better time, and that gives the
economy 18 months to pick up and provide CEU funding for teachers again.
What we did this year was an attempt to get people more involved in
the organization. If we can build our current membership to include
counselors, nurses, related services, we would be able to provide a
larger more comprehensive conference in 2011. Every current member
is charged with bringing in at lease two new members by the next conference.
That would triple our membership, put some more money in the treasury
and get more people working on committees in their urgent work.
Goals for each committee will be posted on this website as soon as they
are finalized. Any member can join a committee that fits their
own personal goals just by contacting the Committee Chair. Any
reader can join the organization by sending in membership dues and information
to the treasurer as listed in our brochure, and then join a committee.
We have much work to do this next 18 months. We need more interested
people. We need a leader who can organize the committee work and
inspire passion in our members to get things done.
