Rob Gothson Jr. Scholarship Fund
We provide three annual scholarships to high school
seniors who are battling a chronic illness with a minimum of a $1000
stipend to further their education.
2009 Scholarship Award Ceremony
The North Carolina Association for the Education of Chronically Ill
Children (NCAECIC) seeks to support not only its members, but also the
students whom they serve.
Under past president Rob Gothson, who first envisioned the
scholarship, NCAECIC created a scholarship fund for students with
chronic illnesses who wish to further their education through
undergraduate studies at the college or university of their choosing.
Understanding that students with chronic illnesses have to face amazing
struggles simply to go to school, it is the goal of NCAECIC to help
alleviate the financial burden of a college education as well its
potential stress on the family.
The NCAECIC scholarship fund was renamed the Rob Gothson, Jr.
Scholarship Fund in honor of Rob Gothson, Jr., and was awarded for the
first time at our 2005 conference.
If you know of someone who is battling a chronic illness, you know
how a little help can go a long way. Please consider a tax-deductible
contribution to the NCAECIC Scholarship Fund and become a part of
making dreams realities for students with chronic illnesses.
All contributions can presently be sent to:
